Weather Advisory: Heavy rain, strong winds & possible flooding beginning tonight through Saturday night.
Please be advised that Monroe Township Office of Emergency Management is closely monitoring a coastal storm that will affect our area starting tonight and lasting through Saturday night. This storm is expected to bring 2-4" of heavy rain and gusty winds that could reach 35 - 45 mph. Poor travel conditions, downed power lines, downed trees and flooding could be a result of this storm system.
Please report all power outages directly to JCP&L at 1-888-LIGHTSS
In case of any emergency, please dial 911!
Safety Tips:
- Always assume that all downed power lines are live!
- If you come across a flooded roadway, please don't drive through it. Turn around and report it to the police department.
- Secure all outdoor furniture, garbage cans & lawn decorations by tying them down or bring them inside.
- Make sure that your flashlights and cell phones are charged in case of a power outage.
- Do not use your gas stove to heat your home!
- Only use generators outdoors and away from windows.
