...FIRE WEATHER WATCH IN EFFECT SUNDAY FOR THE NORTHEAST AND EAST CENTRAL PLAINS DUE TO VERY STRONG WINDS AND LOW HUMIDITY... .A potent storm system moving across the region Sunday will allow strong west winds to develop across eastern NM. The combination of relative humidity values near 15 percent with widespread strong west winds will allow any fires that do develop to spread within fine fuels across the northeast and east central plain. Critical fire weather conditions will subside Sunday evening. The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a Fire Weather Watch...which is in effect Sunday afternoon.
* AREA AND TIMING...Northeast Plains (Zone 104) and East Central Plains (Zone 126).
* 20 FOOT WINDS...West winds 30 to 45 mph with gusts up to 60 mph.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...14 to 18%.
* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
* AFFECTED AREAS: NORTHEAST PLAINS ... EAST CENTRAL PLAINS
