Special Weather Statement until 12:00PM

A strong cold front surging south into eastern New Mexico this morning will create a period of light to moderate snow through late morning. Areas along the I-40 corridor, U.S. 285 and U.S. 60/84 will experience rapidly deteriorating weather conditions this morning with a period of snow, blowing snow, and reduced visibility. Rain may mix with snow at times before changing over to all snow. Snowfall amounts between a dusting and 1 inch are possible along I-40 between Clines Corners, Santa Rosa, and Tucumcari, as well as around Fort Sumner and Clovis. Strong north winds will also occur through this morning with gusts of 40 to 50 mph at times.
