Wilmington Police have arrested a male juvenile on gun charges.
On March 20, at approximately 6:43 p.m., members of the Wilmington Police K-9 Unit were in the 400 block of North Broom Street, when they observed a male subject acting in a suspicious manner. Police made contact with a 17-year-old male juvenile, who was found to be in possession of a loaded 9mm handgun, and taken into custody without incident.
The 17-year-old male juvenile has been charged with the following offenses:
- Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited – Two Counts
- Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and was committed to the New Castle County Juvenile Detention Center on $7,500 cash-only bail.
