INCIDENT: P.C. 664/187 - Attempted Murder
LOCATION: 14700 block of Osmunda Avenue, Chino Hills
SUSPECT(S): Luke Darnell, a 42-year-old resident of Chino Hills
VICTIM(S): Confidential
SUMMARY: On Sunday, March 24, 2024, at about 1100 a.m., Chino Hills deputies responded to a call for service in the 14700 block of Osmunda Avenue. Deputies found a female victim suffering from sharp force injuries. Through investigation, the suspect was identified as Luke Darnell, a 42-year-old resident of Chino Hills. Deputies also learned Darnell and the victim were known to each other. Deputies contacted and detained Darnell at his residence. The victim was transported to a local hospital with significant injuries.
Chino Hills detectives assumed the investigation. Detectives collected evidence and conducted interviews. Ultimately, Darnell was arrested for attempted murder and was booked at West Valley Detention Center.
