*2nd UPDATE*: Critical Incident in the lobby of Industry Sheriff Station 
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Investigators are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of a female Hispanic juvenile. Investigators learned that on Sunday, March 24, 2024, at approximately 7:25 P.M., Industry Sheriff’s Station deputies received a family disturbance call for service on the 300 block of Clintwood Avenue in the city of La Puente.
The juvenile’s foster parent reported that the juvenile was suffering from an apparent mental health crisis. Deputies responded to the scene; however, the juvenile had already left on foot before the deputies arrived. The juvenile’s destination was not known at the time of the call. No injuries were reported at that location. The distance between the location on Clintwood Avenue in the city of La Puente and Industry Sheriff’s Station is approximately one mile apart.
Investigators are still in the early stages of this ongoing investigation.

1st UPDATE IS AS FOLLOWS:
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Investigators are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of a female Hispanic juvenile. Deputies from the Industry Sheriff’s Station were alerted to a female Hispanic juvenile who was knocking on the front door of the Sheriff’s station lobby. The deputies walked to the lobby door. At which time the juvenile lunged into the lobby and reached for the deputy’s holstered firearm and took possession of it. A struggle ensued between the deputies and juvenile who was armed with the deputy’s firearm. During the struggle, the juvenile suffered from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel responded to the scene and pronounced the juvenile deceased.
Investigators learned this incident stemmed from a family disturbance call deputies from the Industry Sheriff Station responded to shortly before the incident. No deputies were injured during the incident.
The juvenile’s identity and age will not be released at this time, pending a next of kin notification.
The investigation is ongoing and currently there is no additional information at this time.

A female walked into the Industry Sheriff Station lobby at approximately 7:40 p.m. There was an altercation and a critical incident occurred. This was not a Deputy Involved Shooting incident.
