...HEAVY SNOW AND WINTER STORM IMPACTS ARE EXPECTED TO CONTINUE THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT... .Winter weather conditions are impacting travel across much of northeastern New Mexico and the northern Sangre de Cristo Mountains. Another round of snow is expected tonight in the mountains which will add to snowfall accumulations already and make for hazardous travel conditions. Farther east US Highway 87/64 remains closed between Raton and Clayton due to snow packed driving conditions and gusty winds blowing snow. These conditions should begin to ease this evening.
* WHAT...Snow. Additional snow accumulations up to 7 inches.
* WHERE...Tusas Mountains Including Chama.
* WHEN...Until 3 AM MDT Tuesday.
* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. Tire traction will be reduced. Extend the distance between your vehicle and the vehicle in front of you.
