Wilmington Police arrest man and woman following drug investigation:
Wilmington police have arrested a man and woman following a drug investigation.
Beginning in March, members of the Drug, Organized Crime, and Vice Division have been conducting an investigation into illegal drug sales in the 700 block of West 31st Street. On March 21, at approximately 1:08 p.m., police conducted a motor vehicle stop in the 3600 block of Miller Road, and took 27-year-old Kayla Brown into custody without incident. Subsequently, police executed a search warrant in the 700 block of West 31st Street, and took 29-year-old Damir Hammond into custody without incident. Police recovered 11.1 grams of crack cocaine, .5 grams of fentanyl laced marijuana, $1,150, and drug paraphernalia.
Hammond has been charged with the following offenses:
- Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver in Tier 2 Quantity
- Possession of a Controlled Substance in Tier 2 Quantity
- Possession of a Controlled Substance
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Brown has been charged with the following offense in addition to traffic violations:
- Hindering Prosecution
