The City of East Chicago has contracted with National Power Rodding Corp. to clean and televise the sewers in your neighborhood. Their crews will begin working on Alexander from 148^th to 151^st, Monday and Tuesday April 1^st through April 2^nd, weather permitting.
 
The cleaning process uses high-pressure water jetting equipment that may induce pressure changes in the sewer. Below are helpful tips to reduce any inconvenience during the scheduled work.
 
·       Keep toilet seat covers down
 

• Run water down drains that haven't been used recently to make sure P-traps have water (to prevent odors from entering the basement)

• Cover basement drains to prevent backsplash

• Loosen caps or plugs on any exterior sewer service cleanouts.
