Two Arrested and Charged after Traffic Stop Turns up Narcotics
Detective Adam Burnette with the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office Community Impact Team charged 46-year-old Eric Eugene Houck with felonious Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Marijuana up to ½ Ounce. Houck was issued a $10,000 secured bond.
Detective Burnette also charged Deana Marie McKinney with felonious Possession of Methamphetamine. McKinney was issued a $5,000 secured bond.
On March 25th, detectives were patrolling the area of Veterans Dr. and Sugar Hill Rd. in Marion and initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for displaying a fictitious license plate. The driver was identified as Houck and the passenger as McKinney. Detective Burnette and K9 Kessy assisted with the traffic stop. Kessy alerted on the vehicle for the presence of narcotics. A search turned up methamphetamine and marijuana.
