Deputies Make Three Arrest During Safety and Sobriety Checkpoint in Rancho Cucamonga

LOCATION: Foothill Boulevard / Mayten Avenue
SUMMARY: On Saturday, March 23, 2024, San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department personnel conducted a safety and sobriety checkpoint in Rancho Cucamonga. Deputies screened approximately 1550 vehicles. Of the vehicles screened, 103 vehicle stops were conducted. The vehicle stops resulted in two arrests for driving under the influence, 33 traffic citations, including 26 citations for driving without a valid license.
DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on reported incidents of impaired driving-related collisions. The primary purpose of DUI checkpoints is to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off public roadways.
Funding for this checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
