INCIDENT: 2024-9710 MOTOR VEHICLE CRASH
DATE & TIME OCCURRED: 3/31/2024 at 1209 Hours
LOCATION OCCURRED: New Village Road near Akron Lane

DRIVER: 66-year-old male

DETAILS: At 12:09 PM on this date, West Windsor Township Police Department Communications detailed Patrol Units, WW DIvision of FIre & Emergency Services, Station #43, and Station #44 to a single-car crash on New Village Road approaching Akron Lane.
Units arrived to find a 2023 Mazda CX5 with heavy damage, disabled in the roadway and lying on its passenger's side. The sole occupant/driver was entrapped inside of the vehicle. WW DIvision of Fire & Emergency Services assisted the driver with exiting the damaged vehicle. The driver was transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center (Trauma) for treatment for a moderate head injury.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the Mazda had been traveling westbound on New Village Road. For undetermined reasons, the Mazda struck the west bound curb, exited the road, and struck a tree. The vehicle overturned onto its side as it reentered the roadway and remained in its final resting place in the westbound lane of New Village Road. New Village Road was closed in the area of the collision for approximately 1 1/2 hours.
