Winter Weather Advisory until 04:00PM Monday

* WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 6 to 12 inches.

* WHERE...East Turnagain Arm.

* WHEN...From 10 PM this evening to 4 PM AKDT Monday.

* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. Travel may be difficult. Visibility in heavy snow showers may be reduced to one half mile or less at times.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snow showers will develop by late tonight from Portage to Girdwood. Snowfall rates may reach one to two inches per hour at times in heavier snow showers, reducing visibility to one half mile or less. The highest snowfall accumulations are expected along the Portage Glacier Road and in Girdwood, where 6 to 12 inches of snow could fall. Elsewhere along the Seward Highway, 3 to 6 inches of snow is possible. Snowfall on wet roads may lead to icy conditions as overnight as temperatures fall below freezing. Snowfall on area roads may turn slushy by Tuesday afternoon as temperatures warm back into the mid 30s.
