On Monday, 4/8 from 10am to 10pm, 25^th Street between 2^nd Ave and 3^rd Ave, will be closed to vehicle traffic. A significant amount of congestion is expected in that area due to Gus's Hot Dogs 70th Anniversary celebration. City leaders have discussed this event with Gus's and after careful consideration of all the options, the decision to close the street to vehicles is in the best interest of the public's safety. 
 
Detoured tractor trailers and larger vehicles heading west on 25^th Street should utilize 19^th Street to 12^th Avenue. Tractor trailers/large vehicles heading east should utilized 12^th Avenue to 19^th Street. Regular passenger cars and smaller trucks may use local side streets (either 26^th Street or 24^th Street).
 
Watervliet police officers will be on location throughout the entirety of the event to assist where needed.

Finally, we ask that those visiting Gus's Hot Dogs during this event be courtesy to the surrounding neighborhoods and mindful of parking regulations.
