HALEDON POLICE DEPARTMENT UNVEILS
THERAPY K-9 PROGRAM
Haledon, New Jersey - Mayor Michael Johnson, the Haledon Municipal Council, and Chief of Police Angelo J. Daniele proudly unveil the newest members of the Haledon Police Department - K-9 Nash under the supervision of Corporal April Latona and K-9 Murph under the supervision of Detective/Lieutenant Timothy Lindberg. These esteemed K-9 officers will serve a vital role as Therapy K-9s within our community and police force.
K-9 Nash completed his rigorous training at Cover K-9 Training in Cedar Grove under the expert guidance of owner Justin Nielsen, a seasoned law enforcement officer with 14 years of experience. With basic obedience training conducted by Instructor Gideon, Nash went on to achieve his Therapy Dog certification under Instructor Tiago, an esteemed American Kennel Association Evaluator. Nash's exceptional abilities were further recognized through multiple American Kennel Club certificates and awards.
We express our deepest gratitude to the entire team at Cover K-9 Training for their unwavering support and dedication in assisting the Haledon Police Department with launching our meaningful Therapy Dog Program.
As K-9 Murph continues training to join Nash, we eagerly anticipate the invaluable services and comfort both K-9 officers will bring to our community and department. Special thanks are extended to Detective Lieutenant Timothy Lindberg and Corporal April Latona for graciously providing their family K-9’s to this commendable program.
The utilization of Therapy K-9s within law enforcement enhances community engagement, emotional support, and overall well-being. These trained dogs offer comfort, stress relief, and companionship to individuals in various settings, fostering positive interactions and promoting mental health awareness.
We are eager to witness the positive impact K-9 Nash and future K-9 Murph will have as they embark on their roles as Therapy K-9s in our beloved community. Follow us on social media, and stay tuned for updates!
