Flood Watch until 05:50PM Thursday

...The National Weather Service in Baltimore MD/Washington DC has issued a Flood Watch for the following rivers in Maryland... Virginia...West Virginia... Potomac River at Little Falls affecting Central and Southeast Montgomery and Fairfax Counties. Potomac River at Shepherdstown affecting Washington, Jefferson and Berkeley Counties. Potomac River at Edwards Ferry affecting Western Loudoun, Northwest Montgomery and Eastern Loudoun zones. Potomac River at Point of Rocks affecting Western Loudoun and Frederick MD zones. Conococheague Creek at Fairview affecting Washington County. Opequon Creek near Martinsburg affecting Jefferson and Berkeley Counties. Monocacy River near Frederick affecting Frederick MD zone. For the Potomac River...including Paw Paw, Hancock, Shepherdstown, Harpers Ferry, Point of Rocks, Edwards Ferry, Little Falls... flooding is possible. For the Conococheague Creek...including Fairview...flooding is possible. For the Opequon Creek...including Martinsburg...flooding is possible. For the Monocacy River...including Frederick...flooding is possible.

* WHERE...Opequon Creek near Martinsburg.

* WHEN...From Wednesday evening to Thursday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...At 11.0 feet, Water begins to cover backyards of homes on Bowers Road (County Road 1/1). Douglas Grove Road (County Road 9/16) is flooded and impassible. Water also approaches Golf Course Road (County Road 36) and Grapevine Road (County Road 9/14).

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:30 AM EDT Tuesday the stage was 4.1 feet, or 5.9 feet below flood stage. - Forecast...Flood stage may be reached tomorrow evening. - Flood stage is 10.0 feet. - Please visit www.weather.gov/safety/flood for flood safety and preparedness information
