Fair Lawn Emergency Management is monitoring a rain event that will affect our area through Thursday evening. The heaviest rain will occur on Wednesday afternoon through late Wednesday night. Total rainfall is expected to be around 2 -3 inches for the entire event.
 
Runoff will result in minor to moderate flash flooding of rivers, small creeks, streams, and other low lying and flood prone locations. Urban flooding of low lying and poor drainage areas is likely.
 
Passaic River High Tide @ E. Rutherford: Wednesday, Apr 3 – 4:28pm; Thursday, Apr 4 – 4:52am
 
Saddle River at Lodi is expected to crest Thursday, at 0200 hours, at 4.7 ft
 
Winds will be 10-20 mph, with gusts to 35 mph. Winds may cause down tree limbs, resulting in power outages. 
 
If you experience a power outage, please call PSE&G directly at 1-800-436-7734.  Register for MyAlerts from PSE&G to report outages and receive text/email updates about the status of the power outage. Text "REG" to 4PSEG (47734). Do not call the Police Department to report a power outage or to ask when power will be restored. 
 
Please be sure to take appropriate mitigation actions to protect flood prone properties. 
 
Fair Lawn Emergency Management will continue to monitor this weather event and will issue additional bulletins as necessary.
