Police Seek Help Identifying Shooting Suspect
Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé requests the public’s help with identifying the below-pictured suspect in connection with a shooting that occurred on Wednesday, March 20, 2024.
At approximately 7 a.m., Police responded to the 100 block of West Runyon Street to investigate a shot fired from that location. A male suspect fired a handgun toward Hawthorne Avenue from West Runyon Street. Although no injuries have been reported, police recovered a .9mm shell casing at the scene.
Detectives investigating this incident obtained surveillance footage of the suspect and request the public’s help in quickly identifying him.
Director Fragé urges anyone with information regarding the identity of either this suspect to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
