DETAILS: On April 1, 2024, at approximately 6:44 pm Officers were sent to Palo Duro High School on a motor vehicle versus pedestrian collision. Upon their arrival they discovered a juvenile had been purposefully run over by a black Chevy Tahoe. Officers discovered two parties met at the school to fight. As the fight is happening, the suspect drives off in the black Tahoe and runs over a juvenile male. He was taken to a local area hospital with life threatening injuries. As the suspect fled the scene, he was shot at by an individual who came to witness the fight. Officers recovered shell casings on the scene and later recovered the firearm used. The shooter was identified and interviewed. The driver of the vehicle, Robert Scifries, male, age 35, was later located at an Amarillo Motel and arrested. He was booked into the Potter County Detention Center for Aggravated Assault w/ Deadly Weapon. The incident is being investigated by the Violent Crimes Unit of the Amarillo Police Dept.
