DETAILS: On April 2, 2024, at approximately 11:03 am, Officers were called to a major crash at IH40 and Grand North Frontage Road. A black Toyota FJ Cruiser was traveling northbound on Grand Street approaching the north frontage road. A black over red Pontiac G6 was traveling westbound on the north frontage road approaching Grand St. The Toyota struck the driver’s side of the Pontiac. The Toyota then struck a white F-150 that was stopped facing Southbound on Grand waiting at the red light. The driver of the Pontiac is identified as Catherine White, female, age 63. She was transported to an area hospital where she died as result of the injuries sustained in the crash. The driver of the Toyota was not injured in the crash. The driver of the Ford F150 was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Potter County Judge Debbie Horn was contacted and has ordered an Autopsy. Next of kin for Ms. White has been notified. The incident is being investigated by the Traffic investigation unit of the Amarillo Police Department.
