On March 21, 2024, Pomona Police Special Investigation Unit (SIU) officers arrested 43-year-old Tommy Ray Belin for the murder of 25-year-old Andrea Bustillos
At approximately 6:39 AM on February 26, 2024, patrol officers responded to a 9-1-1 call regarding a female potentially experiencing a fentanyl overdose in the 900 block of W. Holt Ave. in the City of Pomona. Officers arrived to the location and found an unconscious female with visible bodily injuries. Despite lifesaving efforts by officers and the Los Angeles County Fire Department, the victim did not survive and was declared deceased at the scene.
Given the circumstances surrounding this incident, investigators from the Pomona Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit responded to the scene to assume the investigation. Investigators identified Belin in connection to the murder of Bustillos. Belin was arrested in the City of Upland and booked at the Pomona City Jail. The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office has filed the following charges:
187 (a) PC – Murder
245(a)(4) PC - Assault by means of force likely to produce great bodily injury
290.011(b) PC - Failure to Register as a Transient after moving from a residence
