Winter Weather Advisory until 10:00AM Wednesday
...Heavy Wet Snow and Strong Winds Impacting Travel Into The Wednesday Morning Commute... .Narrow bands snow continue to wrap around surface low pressure that is centered over Lake Michigan. Most visibilities range from 1 to 3 miles with some local 1/2 to 1 inch per hour snow rates. Daytime snows varied quite a bit due to melting with ridge tops and other higher terrain locations accumulating the most snow. As a result, road conditions vary from wet to icy to snow covered and slippery. Noted slow downs were along I90 in southeast Minnesota and north on I94 north of Oakdale and along Highway 29. The snow will continue tonight with narrow snow bands also persisting. Several more inches of accumulation are expected, focused over parts of western and central Wisconsin. In addition, winds will be on the increase tonight, gusting from 40 to 50 mph. Blowing or drifting will be possible as the temperatures drop and visibilities will be impacted. Also, there is the potential for any snow laden tree branches or power lines to be brought down. Travel will be impacted through Wednesday with snow covered, icy, and slushy roads combined with the strong wind gusts. Exercise caution.
