Winter Weather Advisory until 01:00PM

...Heavy Wet Snow and Strong Winds Impacting Travel Into The Morning Commute... .Narrow bands of snow seen overnight expected to continue into the morning commute. Snowfall rates of 0.5" per hour seen within these heavier bands, decreasing visibilities below 1 mile at times. These stronger snowfall bands depart to the east through central Wisconsin today. Additional accumulations of 1 to 4 inches expected area wide. Increased wind gusts from 40 to 50 mph will exacerbate visibility reductions. Additionally, the combination of strong winds with heavier snow can fell tree branches or power lines. Travel will be impacted through the morning commute, especially untreated roads and cooler ridge tops. Exercise caution.

* WHAT...For the Winter Storm Warning additional heavy snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches. For the Winter Weather Advisory, snow expected. Additional snow accumulations up to 2 inches possible. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph.

* WHERE...Monroe, Juneau, Adams, Vernon and Richland Counties.

* WHEN...For the Winter Storm Warning, until 10 AM CDT this morning. For the Winter Weather Advisory, from 10 AM this morning to 1 PM CDT this afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. Hazardous conditions will impact the morning commute. Fallen tree branches and power lines are possible where heaviest snow fell.

* AFFECTED AREAS: MONROE ... JUNEAU ... ADAMS ... VERNON ... RICHLAND

Keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle if traveling and dwelling with localized power outages. Slow down and use caution while traveling. Visit 511wi.gov for road conditions.
