Wilmington Police have arrested a man on gun charges.
On April 1, at approximately 3:44 p.m., members of the Drug, Organized Crime, and Vice Division were in the 100 block of East 39th Street, when they observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation. Police conducted a motor vehicle stop and made contact with the driver – 57-year-old Derrin Fountain. Following a brief investigation, Fountain was taken into custody without incident and police recovered a loaded .357 caliber handgun.
Fountain has been charged with the following offense in addition to traffic violations:
- Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and was released on $5,000 unsecured bail.
