Latest South Brunswick weather briefing -
* Strong System Brings Flooding Risk *
Threat Time: Through 12:00 AM Thursday
Areas of rain with embedded downpours working into the area can lull for a time around or just after midday. Winds become increasingly gusty before more numerous downpours build into the area later this afternoon and into the evening as the bulk of this robust system swings through the region. An additional 1-2” of rain on top of the already saturated grounds will lead to instances of flooding along streams/creeks, and can make for problems during the PM rush hour when downpours may be most persistent. Downpours will be accompanied by area wide strong winds with peak gusts of 40-50 mph which can lead to a few downed trees / power outages. The heaviest rain and strongest gusts diminish in the evening before tapering to showers after midnight which finally exit in the predawn.
