High Wind Watch until 01:00PM Saturday

* WHAT...Southwest winds 50 to 65 mph, becoming west on Saturday morning, with gusts up to 80 mph possible.

* WHERE...Central Aleutians.

* WHEN...From Friday evening through Saturday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...High winds could move loose debris, damage property, and cause power outages. Travel could be difficult.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Winds will increase Friday night out of the southwest and are most likely to peak during the early hours of Saturday morning. Although winds will begin to diminish later on through Saturday morning, they will shift out of the west. This is a favorable direction for strong winds in both Adak and Atka, so it is possible that the strongest winds of the event may instead be experienced during this time.

* AFFECTED AREAS: CENTRAL ALEUTIANS

Instructions:

A high wind watch means there is potential for a hazardous high wind event. Monitor the latest forecasts and warnings for updates on this situation. Fasten loose objects or shelter objects in a safe location prior to the onset of winds.
