...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Virginia...Maryland...West Virginia... Potomac River at Edwards Ferry affecting Loudoun and Montgomery Counties. Potomac River at Shepherdstown affecting Washington, Berkeley and Jefferson Counties. For the Potomac River...including Paw Paw, Hancock, Shepherdstown, Harpers Ferry, Point of Rocks, Edwards Ferry, Little Falls...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring.

* WHERE...Potomac River at Shepherdstown.

* WHEN...Until tomorrow afternoon.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:45 PM EDT Thursday the stage was 17.7 feet, or 2.7 feet above flood stage. - Bankfull stage is 8.0 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 8:45 PM EDT Thursday was 17.9 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage late tomorrow morning and continue falling to 8.1 feet Sunday evening. - Flood stage is 15.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 17.8 feet on 04/21/1940. - Please visit www.weather.gov/safety/flood for flood safety and preparedness information
