Felony OWI - 4th Offense
On Thursday, April 4, 2024, at 11:39 pm, a Middleton Police Officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that was observed operating southbound on Parmenter Street without its required headlamps activated. Upon contacting the driver, the officer noted a strong odor of intoxicants coming from the vehicle and its occupants. The driver, Joshua H. Thompson, 37 years old, of Oregon, admitted to consuming alcohol before operating his friend’s car.
According to Thompson’s driving record, he had three prior convictions for operating while intoxicated (OWI) and a .02 alcohol level restriction. Thompson submitted to field sobriety testing and was subsequently arrested for 4th offense OWI, a felony. Thompson was booked into the Dane County Jail for the felony OWI.
