A 4.8 magnitude earthquake was reported by USGS at 10:23 AM. The Westchester County Emergency Management Center is currently assessing for local impacts and for county-wide situational awareness. At this point, there does not seem to be any significant local damage or cause for further concern. We will provide additional information if the situation changes.
Please be advised New York City Emergency Management may activate the Wireless Emergency Alert system in response to the earthquake. In the event an alert is initiated, please be advised that mobile devices located near jurisdictional borders may receive this notification.
