Update: Emergency Alert Notification & Earthquake Safety Tips
NYS Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services is sending a Wireless Emergency Alert to all cell phones in the NYC-metro area and parts of the lower Hudson Valley. Many mobile devices are likely receiving this alert now. There is no action required. The message advises that aftershocks may occur and to only call 911 to report an emergency. There is also a link to earthquake safety tips.
