Beginning Monday, April 8, 2024, the City of Winter Springs Utilities will begin conducting citywide fire hydrant inventory and inspection.

Contractors with the City will inspect and inventory all 1200 public fire hydrants to ensure they are maintained and in proper working order.

As part of the process, crews will open hydrants to check flow rates and pressure to ensure each hydrant is cataloged correctly.

Work will be performed Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Residents will be notified of the dates and locations of the work being done at www.winterspringsfl.org, through eAlert notifications, and city social media accounts.

Customers are advised to minimize water usage during the period of immediate area testing. If discoloration occurs in tap water, run the cold-water faucet for several minutes or until the discoloration clears.
