...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT NOON THROUGH 8 PM TODAY FOR THE MIDDLE RIO GRANDE VALLEY AND ALL OF EASTERN NEW MEXICO DUE TO STRONG WINDS AND LOW HUMIDITY... ...FIRE WEATHER WATCH IN EFFECT FROM SUNDAY MORNING THROUGH SUNDAY EVENING FOR ALL OF EASTERN NEW MEXICO DUE TO STRONG WINDS AND LOW HUMIDITY... .Very strong westerly winds will develop by late morning behind a cold front that swept through the area this morning. Low humidity values in combination with these winds will create critical fire weather conditions for the Rio Grande Valley and all of eastern New Mexico despite well below normal temperatures. * 20 FOOT WINDS... Today, west 30 to 45 mph with gusts to 65 mph. On Sunday, west 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 40 mph.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...Minimum values between 10 and 15 percent today and between 6 and 12 percent on Sunday.
* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
