Deputies and Animal Control Investigate Possible Animal Cruelty and Determine No Abuse Occurred

INCIDENT: Suspected Cruelty to Animals
LOCATION: 14700 block of Dakota Road, Apple Valley, CA
SUMMARY: On Wednesday, April 4, 2024, at approximately 4:12 p.m., San Bernardino Sheriff’s Dispatch received a call from a person claiming they have friends in Apple Valley and were worried they will take matters into their own hands and harm a male for hurting dogs. The reporting party claimed the incident steamed from a viral video on social media.
Deputies from Apple Valley Police Department responded to the residence and conducted a thorough investigation into the abuse of dogs on the property. Deputy D. Ramires, and Officer Hall of Apple Valley Animal Control, conducted a joint investigation which included a welfare check of all animals at the residence and x-rays. The investigation showed there was no abuse to the animals, and the situation was determined to be unfounded.
