Red Flag Warning until 08:00PM Sunday

...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM UNTIL 8 PM FOR ALL OF EASTERN NEW MEXICO DUE TO STRONG WINDS AND LOW HUMIDITY... .Winds will not be as strong today, but strong enough when combined with persistent very low relative humidity for another round of critical fire weather conditions across eastern New Mexico. The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a Red Flag Warning...which is in effect from 10 AM this morning to 8 PM MDT this evening. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.

* AREA AND TIMING...This includes all of eastern New Mexico (Zones 104, 123, 125, and 126) this afternoon through this evening.

* 20 FOOT WINDS...West 20 to 25 mph with gusts to 40 mph. Stronger winds likely across the highlands.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...Minimum values between 6 and 12 percent.

* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.

* AFFECTED AREAS: NORTHEAST PLAINS ... NORTHEAST HIGHLANDS ... CENTRAL HIGHLANDS ... EAST CENTRAL PLAINS
