As of 8:50, deputies have suspended the search for the two men who fled from a traffic stop earlier this evening.  The subjects were not located.

At approximately 6:53 p.m. today, April 7, 2024 , deputies attempted to stop a vehicle on Main Street, Hilton Head Island, SC for a traffic violation.  After a brief vehicle pursuit, the driver and passenger of the vehicle jumped out and ran into the woods on Bus Dr. near the school complex.

Deputies are currently searching the area for both men who were wearing all black.  The driver is further described as wearing a black hooded sweatshirt.  He has long, dreadlocks style hair.  

Expect an increased law enforcement presence in the area.
