Suspicious person call leads to arrest of Princeton man on multiple charges.
On April 8, 2024, at 3 p.m. Gibson County Central Dispatch received a report from a neighbor in the 2000 block of West 50 North of a subject walking in the fields near their residence. Deputy Quinten Might arrived on scene and with the assistance of Sheriff Bruce Vanoven they located Matthew Greer Age 43 of Princeton on the Norfolk Southern right of way with a 1993 Honda 650 dirt back. Deputy Might announced that he was law enforcement and began a pat down for weapons when Mr. Greer began fleeing from Deputy Might and Sheriff Vanoven. After a brief foot chase Mr. Greer was taken to the ground where he continued to physically resist Deputy Might and Sheriff Vanoven. Ultimately Mr. Greer was taken into custody. Multiple officers from the Gibson County Sheriff’s Office and Princeton Police Department arrived on scene to help transport Mr. Greer to the Deaconess Gibson Emergency Room. While being transported Methamphetamines and Drug Paraphernalia were found in Mr. Greer’s property.
After being cleared by Deaconess Gibson’s Emergency Room Mr. Greer was transported to the Gibson County Jail where he was charged with Resisting Law Enforcement Fleeing, Resisting Law Enforcement Fighting, Trespassing, Possession of Methamphetamines, and Possession of Paraphernalia.
All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until, and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
