POSTPONED: NPD Community Academy Postponed Until Summer 2024 
POSTPONED: The upcoming NPD Spanish Language Community Academy (4/9 start date) has been postponed until futher notice. We are working on a new start date for this summer 2024 and will send out an update with new details.
What is our Community Academy?
Our Community Academy provides an inside look at the Novato Police Department. The 5-week course includes weekly sessions on Tuesday evenings (6PM - 8PM), at NPD (909 Machin Ave, Novato) and one Field Day/Graduation session held the first Saturday in May.
Participants have the following opportunities:
~ Ride-along with an officer on patrol
~ Experience our Virtual Reality Training Simulator
~ Introduction to a variety of policing topics and an overview of NPD's essential services and activities.
The Community Academy has become a key element in the Novato Police Department's commitment to community policing and has created a collaborative partnership with our community. Many of our graduates have gone into the policing profession! Police employees teach the academy classes and students are encouraged to be curious, ask questions, and learn more about police activities.
