Wilmington Police have arrested a wanted man on drug charges.
On April 4, at approximately 6:00 p.m., members of the Safe Streets Task Force were in the 2100 block of Locust Street, when they observed a wanted subject. Police attempted to make contact with 31-year-old Tyaire Collins, who fled on foot. Following a brief foot pursuit, Collins was taken into custody without incident and found to be in possession of 4.4 grams of crack cocaine, and .063 grams of heroin.
Collins has been charged with the following offenses in addition to his outstanding warrants:
- Resisting Arrest
- Possession of a Controlled Substance – Two Counts
He was arraigned in the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas and was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $2,000 cash-only bail.
