HILLSIDE AVENUE - Major Traffic/Walking Disruptions Due To Downed Utility Wires. Only Access To HAS Is Centennial Ave 
Due to a tractor-trailer striking power lines in the area of Hillside Avenue and Collins Street, Hillside Avenue is CLOSED from the Hillside Avenue Tunnel to Collins Street WITH NO VEHICLE OR WALKING ACCESS allowable. As the power lines have not been made safe in the roadway, no pedestrian traffic will be allowed from Collins Street to Hillside Avenue, or from Hillside Avenue's Tunnel (Kanishka Passage) to Collins Street.
Hillside Avenue School remains safe, with power to the building and no disruption in the school day.
School dismissals will only be allowed from the Centennial Avenue entrance of Hillside Avenue. Leave ample travel time, and avoid the area of Collins Street or Mendell Avenue (from the Wall Street access point) during school dismissal.
Police and Fire personnel remain on scene, and PSE&G has been dispatched to this location for repairs.
