Meet Hoboken public safety reps; Cheerleading registration opens tomorrow; Green Fair and Little League opening day Saturday
Reminder: CAPS tomorrow night
The City of Hoboken and the Hoboken Public Safety Department will host the next CAPS meeting TOMORROW, Wednesday, April 10, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at The Shepherd and The Knucklehead, 1313 Willow Ave.
CAPS, or Community And Public Safety, is a way for members of the public to meet and engage with local public safety officials. Representatives of Hoboken Police, Hoboken Fire, Hoboken Office of Emergency Management, Hoboken EMS and Volunteer Ambulance Corps, and Hoboken Health Division will be on hand for presentations, conversations, and a question-and-answer session.
Light refreshments will be served.
Register for Cheer Dynamic All-Stars tryouts
Tryouts for children, ages 4 - 7 years old, will be held at the Multi-Service Center on May 13 and May 20 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
Tryouts for children, ages 8 - 15 years old, will be held at the Multi-Service Center on May 15 and May 22 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
Participants must attend both scheduled tryout dates to be considered for the program.

Join Hoboken Little League and RBI Softball on Opening Day
Residents are invited to join the City of Hoboken's baseball and softball Opening Day Parade and ribbon cutting, this Saturday, April 13.
The parade will begin on Washington Street between 10th and 11th Streets at 10 a.m. Players can line up beginning at 9:15 a.m. Little Leage baseball and RBI softball players will march down Washington Street turning left on Fifth Street ending at Sergeant William Fesken Memorial Field at Stevens Park. There will be rolling street closures during the parade.
After the parade, the City will host a ribbon cutting at the recently renovated field at Stevens Park. Improvements include a new turf, dugouts, a scoreboard, and more.
The Hoboken Green Fair & Toy Swap is this weekend!
The annual Hoboken Green Fair, hosted by the City and the Hoboken Green Team, is this Saturday, April 13, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Church Square Park.
The fair aims to raise awareness regarding environmental issues and how consumers can reduce their impact on the earth by selecting sustainable, eco-friendly products and services, reducing energy consumption, conserving water and limiting their dependence on fossil fuels.
This year, the fair will also include a toy swap where families can bring and exchange their clean, gentle-used toys!

Donate new umbrellas and ponchos
The Hoboken Office of Constituent Services and City social workers have launched an umbrella drive to benefit the Hoboken Shelter. Residents can donate new umbrellas and rain ponchos at Hoboken City Hall on weekdays between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. until May 10.
The drive is part of the Project CARE initiative to provide dignified and accessible services to all members of the community.
