THREATS TO CITY FACILITY DEEMED NOT CREDIBLE
 
On April 08, 2024, the Morgan Hill Police Department received an anonymous tip which detailed a specific threat of loss of life directed toward community members at a City operated facility.  Morgan Hill Police detectives immediately initiated a comprehensive investigation to obtain information regarding a possible suspect and motive. Out of an abundance of caution Police Officers were assigned on special duty to monitor the facility during the investigation.
 
On April 09, 2024, Morgan Hill Police detectives determined the threats were not credible and there was no threat to the community.  The Morgan Hill Police Department coordinated with the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office and the United States Secret Service for assistance in dealing with the technical aspects of the investigation.
 
An arrest has been made in this case but due to the suspect being a youth the identity will not be released.
 
The Morgan Hill Police Department takes threats to our community very seriously and will utilize all available resources to ensure threats such as this are completely and thoroughly investigated.
