Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé requests the public’s help with locating Helaina Woodard, 38, of Newark, who is wanted for questioning in connection with the investigation of a shooting that occurred on Friday, April 5, 2024.
At approximately 3:28 a.m., Police responded to the Astor Street near Pennsylvania Avenue on a call of a shooting. Responding officers were advised that a man had arrived at University Hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound. The victim is reportedly in stable condition.
Detectives investigating this incident are seeking Helaina Woodard for questioning.
