Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé requests the public’s help in locating a suspect and the below-pictured vehicle that he used in connection with a robbery on March 30, 2024.
Police responded to the incident that occurred at approximately 6:25 p.m. in the 400 block of Chestnut Street. The victim was walking westbound on Chestnut when a male driving a white Honda Accord stopped his vehicle across the street from him. The male ordered the victim to come over to the vehicle, where he asked the victim for his cell phone. When the victim didn’t give up his phone, the male exited the vehicle and struck the victim in the face several times. He threw the victim to the ground, where he took the victim’s phone and $25.
The suspect fled in the white Honda Accord, which had a black rear spoiler, black side mirrors, a black antenna, and black and chrome rims.
