Flash Flood Warning until 03:15PM

FFWLCH The National Weather Service in Lake Charles has extended the

* Flash Flood Warning for... Beauregard Parish in southwestern Louisiana... Vernon Parish in west central Louisiana... Newton County in southeastern Texas...

* Until 315 PM CDT.

* At 107 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 5 and 13 inches of rain have fallen. Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is expected. Flash flooding is already occurring. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... De Ridder, Leesville, Newton, Rosepine, Merryville, Singer, Bon Weir, Burkeville, Fort Johnson, Fields, Ragley, Sugartown, Dry Creek, Slagle, Call, New Llano, Junction, Tulla, Stringtown and Burr Ferry. Numerous roads are closed across the warned area. Please delay travel if possible.

* AFFECTED AREAS: BEAUREGARD, LA ... VERNON, LA ... NEWTON, TX

Instructions:

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
