Please be advised that Pepin County will be participating in the statewide tornado drill today. Community outdoor warning sirens will be set off at 1pm for a "tornado watch" and 1:45pm and 6:45pm for a "tornado warning". 

Please review severe weather hazards, tornado safety and other preparedness practices with your household/family. As a reminder, when it comes to tornadoes, a watch means that conditions are favorable, while a warning indicates a tornado has been detected by radar or spotted by a trained weather spotter. If a tornado warning is issued, go directly to a safe location within your home or workplace; the best safe places are typically basements, safe rooms, or small interior rooms on the lowest level of a building. Stay away from windows, doors, and outside walls.
