...RED FLAG WARNING FROM NOON TO 8 PM FRIDAY FOR PARTS OF CENTRAL AND EASTERN NM DUE TO STRONG WIND, LOW HUMIDITY, AND AN UNSTABLE ATMOSPHERE... .South and southwest winds will strengthen Friday ahead of an upper level trough approaching from the west. Minimum humidity will fall to near 10% with above normal temperatures, wind gusts up to 40 mph, and high Haines indices. Surface winds will taper off after sunset Friday to alleviate critical fire weather. The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a Red Flag Warning...which is in effect from noon to 8 PM MDT Friday. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.
* AREA AND TIMING...Middle Rio Grande Valley (Zone 106), Sandia and Manzano Mountains (Zone 124), Central Highlands (Zone 125) from noon until 8 PM MDT.
* 20 FOOT WINDS...South and southwest 15 to 30 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...10 to 12 percent.
* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
* AFFECTED AREAS: MIDDLE RIO GRANDE VALLEY ... SANDIA AND MANZANO MOUNTAINS ... CENTRAL HIGHLANDS
