* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for... West central Nicholas County in southeastern West Virginia... Southeastern Kanawha County in central West Virginia... Southwestern Clay County in north central West Virginia... Northwestern Fayette County in southeastern West Virginia...

* Until 600 PM EDT.

* At 526 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Smithers, or 12 miles northwest of Fayetteville, moving northeast at 40 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include... Montgomery, Cedar Grove, Glasgow, Smithers, Gauley Bridge, Pratt, Powellton, Glen, Handley, Bickmore, Swiss, Indore, Bentree, Kesslers Cross Lanes, Drennan, and Pond Gap. This includes West Virginia Turnpike between mile markers 73 and 75, and near mile marker 81.

* AFFECTED AREAS: CLAY, WV ... FAYETTE, WV ... KANAWHA, WV ... NICHOLAS, WV
