Expect heavy traffic in southern Hoboken today; Emergency repairs ongoing near Hoboken terminal
Due to emergency repairs on a collapsed sewer, Hudson Place is closed between Hudson and River Streets.
During repairs, eastbound traffic on Observer Highway will be diverted onto Washington Street. This is expected to cause heavy delays in the area, particularly for drivers in the southern parts of Hoboken. Hoboken Police are assisting with traffic and detours.
Residential commuter, the HOP, and New Jersey Transit buses are currently able to access the terminal area. Sidewalks are currently open for pedestrian access. The Citi Bike station at the terminal is currently operational. Please be advised, all closures and detours are subject to change.
The Hoboken Office of Emergency Management strongly advises residents to leave extra travel time. Drivers should avoid the area, if possible, and use alternate northbound routes into and out of the City during repairs.
