Wilmington Police have arrested a man on drug charges following an investigation.
Beginning in March, members of the Drug, Organized Crime, and Vice Division have been conducting an investigation into illegal drug sales in the 100 block of East 29th Street. On April 5, at approximately 11:01 a.m., police executed a search warrant in that block and took 40-year-old Shannon Showell into custody without incident. Police recovered 1.6 grams of crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia.
Showell has been charged with the following offenses:
- Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 20 and was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $3,000 secured bail.
