Law Enforcement Agencies Collaborate to Dismantle Criminal Network Following Palmdale Shooting Incident
On February 24, 2024, a shooting incident unfolded near the intersection of 35th Street East and East Avenue S-4 in the City of Palmdale, sending shockwaves through the community. Two unidentified suspects, alleged members of the notorious "Most Wanted Criminals" gang, perpetrated the violence, targeting victims following a brief altercation. Palmdale OSS Detectives took immediate action and initiated a meticulous investigation, ultimately leading to the identification of the suspects and the uncovering of a broader criminal network.
Palmdale OSS Detectives relentless pursuit of justice unveiled a network of criminal activities intertwined with the operations of the "Most Wanted Criminals" gang throughout the Antelope Valley. Through extensive investigative efforts, OSS Detectives not only identified the perpetrators of the shooting but also uncovered links to numerous other gang-related crimes.
On April 11, 2024, law enforcement agencies executed thirteen (13) search warrants across multiple cities, including Palmdale, Lancaster, Van Nuys, and Chula Vista. The collaborative effort involved Special Enforcement Bureau deputies, detectives from OSS Bureau, Narcotics Bureau, Major Crimes Bureau, Palmdale Station, Lancaster Station, Palmdale Partners Against Crime Team, Palmdale Station Robbery Team, and agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation. This joint operation resulted in the apprehension of five (5) "Most Wanted Criminals" gang members, including the suspected shooters, and the seizure of critical evidence.
During the execution of the search warrants, law enforcement recovered six (6) firearms, hundreds of rounds of ammunition, narcotics, approximately fourteen thousand dollars, and gang paraphernalia. The diligent efforts of the team ensured the successful disruption of criminal activities and the removal of dangerous weapons from our streets.
A total of one hundred twenty-five (125) body-worn cameras were activated by team members, capturing crucial evidence to support ongoing investigations.
OSS Detective Kenneth Borbon stated, "This operation underscores the unwavering commitment of law enforcement agencies to safeguard our communities from violent criminal elements. Through collaborative efforts and diligent investigative work, we have disrupted a significant criminal network and brought perpetrators to justice."
